Advertisement assignment

These pictures are to advertise for a band or concert, the hardest part of taking these pictures was making sure they didn't come out really blurry because during concerts the musicians move around a lot and its hard to know when to take the picture and to make sure it comes out right.

Photographer research

1. Gregory Crewdson is an American photographer that was born on September 26, 1962. Crewdson went to the Yale School of Art.
2. Crewdson's work is mainly constructed reality of neighborhoods and houses. The houses and neighborhoods are mainly staged in America.
3.I think through the images Crewdson is trying to show some of the darker or more personal areas of life of people in America.
4. In general I find his images very interesting and I think he is a very talented photographer.

Portrait Project

The first picture I wanted to show her true self, she is my really close friend and we joke around about how our brothers, her, and I are "thugs", the second one I wanted to show you don't really know whats going on with someone, the background around her is rocky and rough but when you first look directly around her looks calm. It shows people go hard things but looking directly at them they seem smooth and okay. The third one I also wanted to show sadness. The final one shows her true self, she is in normal clothes because she can no longer do gymnastics but the pose shows her gymnast side and that she is happy like that

Memory Recreate

I got my friends together and drew X's on their hands to recreate a picture my friend took at my first real concert. I took this picture because it reminds me of a really fun night that my best friend took me to my first concert. I used the dodge tool to make the outside darker that way the focus was on the hands of my friends.

Blog Prompts #1-4

1) I believe the second quote is true. Taking certain pictures of people is like showing a part of them, they may show that part of them normally or it may reveal a secret. If people do not know the reasoning behind your photographs it is doing wrong to them and it gives them a reason to distrust you.
2)Photographs are more about the photographer because they seek out the photo. Without the photographer finding the picture and putting their thoughts into the image then their would be no picture. Each photo the photographer finds interesting and takes reveals more of them personally and it shows their thoughts and thought process and how they see things.
3)I believe Adam's quote is true. Photographs can be staged or cropped to show something in a certain light.   An example is during early wars photographers tried to only show certain parts of the war to show all that they were doing as heroic.
4)In a photograph you see everything and it isn't changed to your interpretation on something like with drawing and painting. With drawing and painting someone can leave out details or can paint what they remember, once something is in a photo it is pretty much their besides with Photoshop. Photos can show all details and is not based off of memory of an individual it gives memories to people of the actual scene.
